Diane ran her fingers through her hair agitatedly. She was going to be late, though that might not be such a bad idea. Harry expected her over at his place in 5 minutes, and it took at least 10 to get over there. She debated wether or not to call him and then finally decided against it. Let him wait, panicking. She had waited for too many men for too long most of her life. It was time she had them on edge.
She quickly grabbed her purse and tugged on her red chenille sweater that had taken her forever to find. Eventually she had found it in her sock drawer of all places, buried in with some purple socks. She smiled to herself and wondered if the Sock Union or Purple People Eaters had taken it hostage in exchange for benefits. She took a glance at the clock and hastened her steps.
"Diane, it took you long enough."
"I had to stop and get gas. I brought some movies though," Diane responded, holding up the bag from Hollywood Video to his eye level.
"I see you did. What did you bring? If you force me to sit through Titanic, you're sitting through Rocky."
"If it's Rocky Horror Picture Show, don't think I mind. I brought that too from home."
Harry laughed and took her coat.
"Ahh, comfy clothes. I have to say I approve of the fuzzy slippers."
"My friend Kimberly gave them to me last Christmas. That and these pajama bottoms."
"Kimberly has excellent taste in comfy clothes."
"That she does."
"So, what movies did you bring? I have the candy and popcorn, so you better have good movies."
"Let's see," Diane said, reaching into the bag. "I have no idea what kind of movies you like, so I brought a ton."
"I can see that."
"Here we go; Number 1; "It happened one night," Number 2, "Playing by Heart," you said chick flicks...Number 3, "Life is Beautiful," Number 4, "Girl, Interrupted," Number 5, "Gia," because there's a guy in here that reminds me of you, and I think you'll like the sex. No blanks. And last, but not least, "The Silence of the Lambs," and "The Remains of the Day.""
"I think you brought some of my all time favorites. Let's sit and stuff our faces."
He gestured for her to sit on the mattress he had laid out on the floor. Next to it, pillows and blankets were plied next to candy bars and bowls of See's candy.
"Are you sure you weren't female in a past life?"
"I have no brothers. Only 3 sisters and my father was never home."
"You come from good stock."
"That I do."
After half of "The Remains of the Day," Diane was cuddled up next to Harry, and he was holding her hand tightly to him. When Anthony Hopkins tried to explain sex to Hugh Grant, Harry and Diane were rolling all over the mattress with laughter. When the movie ended, Harry shot up.
"I have the perfect movie. Don't look," he warned as he walked over to the TV stand that held countless films. Harry opened it up and, making sure Diane wasn't looking, pulled out two movies. He ejected "The Remains of the Day," and popped in the first movie.
"What is it?"
"You'll see."
Harry plopped back down onto the comforter and Diane crawled back to his side. He ruffled her hair and she giggled a little.
"You know, I never thought I'd see you like this Harry."
"Like what?"
"Kind, playful, loving, attentive. It's very becoming."
He didn't say anything, just popped a chocolate covered cherry in his mouth. Diane laughed when she saw the previews. This was a period piece; a Sony Pictures Classic.

Diane turned to Harry.
"How did you know that this was one of my favorite movies?"
He shrugged.
"Lucky guess."
