Kikyou

Kikyou is a powerful miko or priestness. The townspeople of Sango’s village had given the Shikon no Tama to Kikyou to guard and purify it. At the beginning, when Inuyasha came to steal the Shikon no Tama from her, she could have him, but she didn’t because she had a good heart. It made Inuyasha curious and he began to follow her wherever he went. After sometime, he and Kikyou began to talk a lot and they fell in love and Inuyasha decided to become a human. Naraku tricked Kikyou into thinking that Inuyasha had come to kill her and take the Shikon no Tama after she said that she would let Inuyasha Shikon no Tama so that he could become completely human and be with her. She tried to kill Inuyasha after the fake Inuyasha made by Naraku off with the Shikon no Tama. Kikyou was badly wounded during this encounter. When the real Inuyasha thought that Kikyou had betrayed him, he went after Kikyou as revenge and steal the Shikon no Tama. When he was trying to escape, Kikyou shot an arrow and sealed Inuyasha to a tree which we later find out is a sacred tree called Goshinboku. Kikyou would later die and later be resurrected by a youkai. She would be living a half-life since her body cannot have the soul that's already been reincarnated in Kagome. Her body is only moving because of her love and hate for Inuyasha. A part of her soul came from Kagome and the rest are the souls of the dead that are brought to her by Soul-Snatchers. She says that she is trying to get Naraku to use the Shikon no Tama, so that she could kill him.
