Diddy Kong Racing Review

GRAFIX :	Good detail with the grafix, but seemingly a little rough. Can't complain, although there is a little slowdown at times...	8
FX :	Funny horn noises, scared noises, etc... That Genie is FUN-NY	9
MUSIC :	La la la La, lalalalalalala, La la la, etc... Suits the game very well, not hardcore in the slightest. Very Cutesy...	8
PLOT :	A driving game with a plot??? What's happening to the world??? Actually, in this game is is being taken over by Wizpig. Diddy & Co. must do all they can to stop him, which includes racing each other for Gold balloons???	7
CONTROLS :	Hmmm. I was very used to MK64, so it took me a looooong time to get used to this. However, if you play this before you get your mits on MK64, you should be alright, although the hovercraft & plane take some two months getting used to...	6
GAMEPLAY :	Very good ideas all round, including a Starfox style (but not in space) shoot 'em up while trying to get some eggs, a Mario Kart Style Death Match, & merging RPG with racing. Loadsa fun...	8
DIFFICULTY :	Easy once you get used to it, but the later stages where you have to collect items while you drive - VERY HARD.	8
LONGETIVITY :	The 1 player game will last you ages, you may try to do it again (I didn't). The multiplayer is good, but it didn't keep me interested for long. Some very good new(ish) ideas though...	6
OVERALL :	A very average game that seems above average, but doesn't quite have the magic feeling it should. Try before you buy...	7.5
