Hobby or obsession, I'm
not too sure. For about 7 years now I have been involved in Genealogy ...... my own
and my husbands family history. It all began while talking to my Grandmother one day
(about 6 months after she had suffered a stroke) and she started to tell me about her
family, things she hadn't spoken about before, she mentioned names that no one in the
family had heard of....and also some brilliant stories that no one was aware of, and I
guess my way of proving to people that she hadn't lost the plot was to delve further.
Well, one thing leads to another and before you know it, you have 100's and 100's of
relatives.
Along the way, I have found some great stories and the odd skeleton or two in the
closet.....but I have learnt so much more about my history than you can read in any book.
Most of all, I love the feeling that I really 'know' some of my own ancestors.
