The Mount
Where have all the birds gone?
This picture was a part of a film that went over the canoe with me while ziping along the Whanganui river.  Consequently, its got some water stains.  Can you see them?
Okay, so this is us (Mackenzie, Lisa, Andrew (Lisa's cousin) and myself), walking around the base of the mount.  Then, I get this great iodea.  You know, like all my great ideas it probably backfires!  So true.  I decide we should just climb up the side of the mount, instead of taking our time to walk around  and around and around until we reached the top.  We get 3/4 the way up and I've run completely out of steam.  Man, I can't take another step for fear of woofing my cookies or colapsing.  So we all had to stop.  I told the others to go on and I'd wait for them but they are such a great bunch that they sacraficed their dream of reaching the top to stay behind with me.  Now that's friendship.  Hey, at least I got a great view from where we stopped and took a couple of pretty neat pictures =)
What's this all about?  Well, this is called "Rocket Bungi" and if you are too chicken to do the real thing, then this is the next best thing =)  I'm way to chicken for the real deal but when Lisa told Mackenzie and I about this I said 'For Sure!'  Now, Mackenzie did do the real deal when she first arrived in Kiwi land and we are all very proud of her.  BUT . . . she got cold feet over the rocket bungi and Lisa and I had to really work on her.  That's not a 'I'm so thrilled to be strapped into this metal ball' smile on her face.  That's a 'okay guys, you've had your fun. Now get me outta this death trap!' kind of grimace. You see the difference, right?  Anyway, to make a short story short.  We survived and had the time of our lives.  If you are heading out to Tauranga any time soon I say definately check this baby out =)
This spot is empty for a reason. I forgot to scan in the other view.  I didn't say it was a good reason =)
