WINTER: (December - March)
Have you ever heard the saying 'when it rains it pours'?  Well around here we might say 'when it snows it storms'!  We had so many winter snowstorms this year (2000-2001) that I've completely lost count.  I took these pictures after one of our first heavy snowfalls.  Talk about fairtalt like . . . actually I don't think many fairytails have anything to do with ice and snow! How disappointing =(
You are actually looking at a frozen river and not a snow covered field.  Well, this can't really be called a river . . . it's more like a swamp/creek/river thing.  We had beavers in this place about five or six years back but the Department of Forestry came and removed them to some place safer.  A major highway runs by this place and some of the beaver were geting killed as they crossed the road. Yikes!
What's this?  My back yard.  The picture on the left is of a bush that is bowed right to the ground because the snow is so thick and heavy.  The picture on the right is of the woods in the back yard just before you enter them.  The snow was only a foot or more deep so I could manouver around in the woods pretty good but the moment I shook a tree or a tree branch a whole world of snow just came tumbling down!  When I got out of there I had snow down the back of my neck, in every pocket of my coat and anywhere else it could find a place to rest! hahaha
