notes that "A fan wrote in to say that they heard Orlando Bloom talking
after the British Academy Film Awards, say that he was going to be working on
this project . Please note this is unconfirmed. (3/1/02) Several fans have written
in to say that Bloom confirmed this while talking to Birtish TV host Graham
Norton."

PREVIOUS FILMS
Previous films about Ned Kelly have starred Mick Jagger, and Yahoo Serious in
the title role. Apparently they haven't had a good definative film about Ned
Kelly yet although they have made quite a few.
SYNOPSIS
"The story of Ned Kelly, who formed the notorious Kelly gang with his brother
Dan and two other men. Making use of homemade steel helmets and chest plates
to stop bullets, they committed a series of robberies from 1878-80, when Kelly
was captured and hanged in Melbourne." (IMDb.com)
RESEARCH & MATERIAL
The film is to be based on Robert Drewe's novel about Ned Kelly, "Our Sunshine",
from which the film takes it's title.

also say that the title has been changed to "Ned Kelly" from "Our
Sunshine".
FILMING DATES & LOCATIONS
Production is scheduled to start in Victoria, Australia,
on April 16th, 2002, after Heath Ledger wraps up "Sin Eater". (11/13/01)
If ShowBizIreland is accurate, there may also be some filming in Ireland, as
well.
RELEASE DATES
IMDb are predicting a September
2002 release in the UK.

Entertainment predict a March 2003 release (sounds more probable to me).
RECOMMENDATIONS
IMDb recommend (as similar
titles) primarily American History X, which as anyone who has seen it will know,
is an excellent film. If "Our Sunshine" is half as good it will be
well worth watching. Other recommendations include Romeo Must Die, Boyz N The
Hood (also excellent film), Bound by Honor, The Outsiders, Deadbeat, Double
Dragon (this one sucks), Class of 99, Miami Connection and Lo chiamavano Trinita.
CREW
The film's director is Australian Gregor Jordan, whose previous credits include
"Buffalo Soldiers" (as has been mentioned) and "Two Hands"
(another Aussie Heath Ledger film which was quite well recieved). Writing credits
go to John M McDonaugh, who has no previous credits.
