Here is an award my kitties have won for being brave and surviving through adversity...

Harley had cat flu when we got him.  It is quite common when cats are kept in shelters that don't have enough space to cope with the hundreds of animals that need them, for them to catch cat flu.  In the cramped conditions and due to the fact they are so unhappy, cats often fall to disease.  Zinzan and Gizmo both had a type of cat flu that caused blisters on their tongues so they found it very difficult and painful to eat even though they were so hungry!  In fact Zinzan was half the body weight of his brother when he was a kitten, and to this day is still a very slight, small boned cat.
