The Tour
After we dropped off the campervan in Sydney, we began our 10 day Connections Tour to travel north up the east coast from Sydney to Airlie Beach - gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the beginning of the Great Barrier Reef. We were a bit skeptical about taking a tour like this, but it turned out to be a blast (so much fun in fact, that we extended the trip by five days so we could stay with the tour all the way up to Cairns). Although we didn't have any freedom of where to go and how long to stay, we did have flash hotels, went to the coolest spots on the coast, and got to do great activities like sailing, diving, off-roading, and surfing.  We also partied our asses off with really cool folks from all over the world. XXXX, VB, Tooheys, Tequila, Red Bull, white wine, etc. :-)
Evan strikes a pose early morning at Mt. Seaview, our first stop on the tour. This was the only time we weren't on the coast.
Relaxing on the deck at Yamba, a sleepy little surf town. Swam a bit, drank a bit, got to know our fellow travelers.
Pretty little cathedral in Brisbane.
Kangaroo Point in Brisbane. This is an excellent climbing crag with routes lit by floodlights so you can get in some climbing after work.
Check out these birds! In the cities, these buggers are as prevalent as pigeons.
After Fraser Island, we went straight off to another island - Great Keppel. It was beautiful, and warm, and tropical! Parrots flew in the trees and we snorkeled all day.
