Taupo
Lake Taupo is New Zealand's largest lake.  It is the self-proclamed trout fishing capital of the world.  Not only that, it's a great mountain town for boating, tramping, rock climbing, skiing and hot springs.

Lake Taupo
Jack and Lin standing by a hot spring stream on the river walk to Huka Falls.  People often come to the river to soak in the warm water under this bridge. We passed on this idea because it was way to cold to strip down.
Rock climbing with a view!  The crag is in Kinloch, a small town on the lake.

The clowd of steam is coming from an area called Craters of the Moon.  It's one of the many thermal areas around Taupo.  The reserve allows visitors to walk on a boardwalk and view bubbling mud pools and huge, steamy craters. You can actually feel the heat through the soil. Unfortunately, we couldn't get close up pictures due to the crazy amount of steam.
