Sydney
In case you were living under a rock last summer, you may not know that Sydney is Australia's largest city with a population of approx. 4 million (larger than the total population of NZ!) and host to the 2000 Summer Olympics. We arrived the morning of March 30th after a flight from Christchurch and met our San Francisco friends Aaron and Catherine who landed only 40 min. after us. We then shared a cab to the trendy-backpacker area of Glebe, where our other friends Matt and Sharon have been living for the past 4 months. It was really great to hang out with familiar faces again, and to be able to explore Sydney with good friends. The highlights of Sydney are the amazing harbor (Harbor Bridge, Opera House) and the many cool beaches where the cityfolks flock for sun and surf. Although we may be biased, the comparison between S.F. and Sydney is actually no comparison at all because San Francisco rocks.

We took a ferry around the harbor and saw this cool little bridge, so we decided to take a picture.
Here's another nice picture from the ferry, but this time we wanted to have this weird building that looks like clam shells in the photo as well.
Ahh, a lovely day for a ferry ride. Here's Matt and Sharon - our friends from the Davis years who graciously let us invade their apartment.
It took hours for Jill to set up this shot on Bondi Beach. Everyone had to be posed just right. Looks like she nailed it, huh? Perfecto.
The sky was clear and the sun was shining. A perfect day to go to the top of the Centrepointe Tower and take in the mahvelous view. Stunning, isn't it?
Taking a breather on the super cool cliff walk that connects Sydney's network of beaches from Bondi to Coogi. There's probably not a more scenic running path anywhere in the world.
Check out these foolios. Nothing like some Ketel One to get the evening off to a good start. That's Aaron and Catherine in the middle with Aaron up to his old tricks.
