Napier
Napier is heralded as the premier Art Deco city in the country. After a large 1931 earthquake, the city was destroyed and then rebuilt in this stylish fashion. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate, it's a popular vacation destination. We spent Mother's Day weekend in the sun with shorts and sandals when it was raining everwhere else in the country. Napier is located on Hawkes Bay, home to New Zealand's oldest and largest wine region. We spent a great afternoon checking out some vineyards and sipping chardonnay. The pics below don't need a whole lot of explaining as they mainly consist of shots of this beautiful town.
Evan gets a little frisky with a park statue as Jill looks on in horror.
Jill takes a moment to reflect and pose after an intense game of minigolf.
A supercool Art Deco mini golf course. We played on it two days in a row!! Total dorks!
