About

What its about?
Who are we?
  • The Organisers.
Kiwavers!

Who is this Kevman person?
Kevman (Kevin Phillips) is the crazy fool who wanted to meet other LightWave users so much that he decided to start a User group, call it something silly like Kiwavers ('Kee-wavers') and invite everyone else with a love of 3D to come along to talk, learn, share, network and socialise!

His passion for LightWave and 3D drives him to spend each month preparing tutorials, collecting the latest cool 3D animation video clips off the web and raving about his favorite thing in life (other then his wife!) to anyone who will listen!

You said there were others involved?
Indeed! Kiwavers wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for some very cool people who supported the whole idea...

Stuart Smith, lecturer-extrordinaire up at the Auckland University of technology. Stuart has been to all the meetings, sometimes being the only other person there!

He has shown support since the reviving of the group in early 2000, and continues to be a great supporter by letting us hold meetings up at AUT in the excellent graphics lab!

He has also been supplying some munchies and drinks at each meeting... Thanks Stuart!

Mark and Gerrard from DesignWise systems, a supplier of LightWave but now sadly gone in a flash of recievership! These guys made the effort to contact me and ask about getting the group back up after it fell to pieces back in 1999, offering us a great place to get together and hold meetings.

I will always thank these guys for helping to get my A into G, and just being really cool to the LWUG!

Herbert F. Weigelt III, the guy who keeps the European LightWave user group up and running, and has provided many an encouraging speech about why not to give up, to keep going no matter how much you think things are going nowhere and being a great supporter of LightWave user groups world wide!

LightWavers of New Zealand, the people who come along to the meetings, talk, socialise, put up with Kev's ranting and raving and make the meetings so much more fun! Its what the group was started for, and its the fun people who we meet that make the whole thing worth the efforts to keep running!
