KING SPRINGS
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL


The Smyrna Golden "K" Kiwanis
has partnered
with King Springs Elementary School
in Smyrna to help children
with reading improvement.

Members have volunteered for the
past year at King Springs,
supporting a

"Reading Mentoring Program".

Several of the members work with the children
one afternoon each week. 
The formal agreeement continues this
commitment plus the addition of

1) Organizing a 'K' Kids Program
2)  Supporting the school honors program
3)  Supporting the "teacher of the year" program

Per the agreement,
the Club is committed
to members giving their time
and club resources to ensure the success
of the school programs.

"Partner in Education"

with Kings Springs Elementary School. 
The agreement was signed at the
King Springs Elementary School PTSA meeting on September 6, 2001
by Ms. Betty Jo Jackson,
Principal of King Springs School
and by Duane Paris,
President of the Kiwanis Club. 
"Partners in Education"
is a program sponsored by the
Cobb County Chamber of Commerce
and the
Cobb County Public School System.

"Partners in Education" is  designed
to establish a voluntary relationship
between an organization and a school. 
The relationship is designed
to create a support system that helps
meet the needs of the school through
the resources of the organization
for the benefit of both.
