Observing details:
Start hopping from gamma-Cetus, hop to star 82 & 84. Star 82, 84 & M77 are align as right triangle, which M77 locates at right angle corner. Place the cross hair at estimated position of M77. At eyepiece 40x, M77 quite easily appeared as a small smudge of light slightly concentrate at center, also slightly elongated. Almost no need avert vision, it is quite easy galaxy. At 100x, it has small light point nearby on east direction.
Refer to text: very bright, pretty large, irregularly round, very bright nucleus. A seyfret galaxy, extend 110,000 ly, Hubble class Sbp. brightest in a group of galaxies.
