Observing details: This observing session was continue from M105 & M96. Aim Telescope to Chertan in Leo, Star 73 and fainter companion also appear in the same FOV of finderscope. Hop from star 73 to two stars mag6.5 (on west) which point to stars 52 & 53. Center at Stars 52 & 53, look for two stars mag7. M95 locates at the corner of triangle comprise of two stars mag7 and position of M95 itself, star 53 also help to aim. M95 is most difficult in this group due to its low Surface Brightness and also far away from pointing stars. The fainter star chart was needed to confirm its exactly position. (I used print out from redshift, which limit to stars mag12). M95 appeared as faint, round and very unstable, couldn't hold its image continuously. This should be only bright nucleus of barred spiral galaxy. Refer to text: bright, large, round , extremely bright nucleus, internal ring with bar. Extends 60,000 ly, Hubble class S(B)b. Member of the Leo galaxy group. Home |
