Start hopping from the tea pot's handle comprises of four star 27,34,40 & 38. Center at star 38, stars mag5.5 & mag6 form equal sides triangle. Star 38, star mag6 & M54 form another right angle triangle. Center at estimated location of M54, made final adjustment at eyepiece. M54 appeared like a faint star at 40x, when change eyepiece to 100x, it appeared as very small, very faint smudge of light From text shows that its distant is 70,000 ly; it should be the farthest globular cluster I have observed. Even though it is not beautiful, but it good value to see the light that traveled from its source 70,000 years ago.
Refer to text: high concentration, very bright, large, round, extend 170 ly. Home
