M45: Pleiades or seven sisters
M45 is easily to see with naked even from Bangkok sky, no needs star hopping. In Thai we call 'doa luk kai" or seven chicks. M45 appeared as very large & very bright cluster, it is very nice when looking by binoculars. The 7 bright stars form as a dipper (tiny one). My sketch recorded 19 stars.
Refer to text: M45 contains more than 100 stars, max mag2.9, extend 12 ly, age 78 million years. Surruonded by large & faint nebula. Home
