Started from Deneb (white giant star, distant 3,229, the luminosity 60,000 times of sun) hop to the center of the northern cross, 'Sadr'; star 40 will appear in the same FOV ,look for a star mag6 which locates between Sadr & 40. M29 will locate at the top of triangle comprise of 40, star mag6 & M29. as M29 won't appear in FOV of finder scope , it has to point to its expected location, and goto eyepiece to make final adjustment. M29 appeared as small open cluster, the bright stars look like a rectangular. this area is quite rich star field. Home
