M16: Eagle or star queen nebula, the hopping to M16 and other objects around this area started from Antares or Kaus borealis 'the tea pod lid' (sky atlas p.22). from Kaus borealis (star no. 22) hop to stars 21 & 13,then hop to star mag5 & 6 near M25 (change to sky atlas p.15) from star mag5 hop to star gamma in constellation Sectum, shift gamma to the edge of FOV, a star mag5.5 will appear, this star is close to M17 (Omega nebula). use gamma and mag5.5 star as a base line of imaginary triangle, M16 located at the top corner. lock it to center of FOV, goto eyepiece at 40x M16 appeared as open cluster with nebulosity. the Ghost is match name for visual observing, it is very nice even though less detail that can't look like an Eagle as shown in text books.
