| VOICES OF HOPE Amidst the flames, the twisted steel amongst the anguish of a nation A tiny voice cried out From within the devastation. It wasnt heard but by a few, who were listening for some hope, but like a bell, it rang out clearly and helped them begin to cope. I am not goneI am forever The distraught workers stopped to pause and listened with tear in eye, still trying hard to understand why so many had to die. Yet the voice was not one of despair, but a voice of eternal love. Soon other voices joined the first In a chorus from Above. Well be with you in eternity The voices became a groundswell then slowly began to wane. On wings of eagles they ascended, free of strife and pain. They would not know the coming fight or feel a loved ones death And yet the voices counseled us with their last earthly breath. Justicenot vengeance Too soon the chorus ended and a golden sunbeam shone. It warmed the saddened hearts and made them not alone. One last plaintive voice cried out to grieve, but not for long. The coming conflict would be grim and the whole world must be strong. Pray for Peace, people, everywhere. Poem, animation 2001 Kaye Powelson |

| I suspect that the most dangerous aspect of evil is that it never recognizes itself. The blame must always be put on someone else, or on outside circumstances, so the guilty can believe themselves innocent. ~Phyllis A. Whitney |
