Forever
Retro Blues is Kitty's first novel! The
time was the coming of age of many Baby Boomers. The age was filled
with questions. The air was filled with music. The major settings
were St. Louis, and Columbia, Missouri, and LA in the 1970s. This
novel is a bildungsroman that examines a young woman during her
physical, mental and emotional development and her connection to
a young blues/rock musician.
What
others say:
"It's
a good book! ... the cover that captures the true essence of the work. "
Roberta J. Buland, editor, Right Words Unlimited;
"It
is a very good description of a young girl and her choices in life."
Cynthia Berkowitz of The Consumer's Eye.
...
it is wonderful. (Kitty) writes with sensitivity and realism. Kitty
Schooley writes with a passion that brings the reader back to those
high school days, when we first learned about love, sex, and all
the other good and bad things that have helped form us into the people
we are today.
I truly loved (the) book. In fact I found it kept me going more so than some
of the best sellers I've recently read. (Kitty's) writing style is easy,
and the material has depth and emotion.

Writer's
Digest 10th Annual Self-Published Book Awards Evaluation:
Schooley
does a nice job of sketching out the kind of character development
and change that a young woman goes through as she develops from a
girl to a woman. KayCee has many of the typical issues that confront
young women--lack of self-worth and confidence, a fantasy about a
man who is not good for her, and an inabliity to deal with love from
a boy who cares for her--an readers, especially women, should be
able to relate. I was especially impressed with the way Schooley
handled the various sexual encounters that KayCee experiences, many
of which struck me as slightly more graphic and mature versions of
scenes from Judy Blume's adolescent book Forever. Hannah is a great
character, and her friendship to both KayCee and Vinnie is one of
the highlights of the book.

the Ballad of Bridget and Brian
Coming soon!
What
gets sacrificed on the altar of the fast life of rock'n'roll? Could it
be true love and intimacy?
The 'Ballad of Bridget
and Brian' is that they are two talented and driven youngsters. Young
and in love, they determine to form a rock group around them. This is
the pinnacle, for when they actually start to make money, Brian is seduced
by the fast life. Broken-hearted and disillusioned, Bridget leaves Brian
and the band for the straight life.
