Once you have your Ferret it is important to have a good cage for your ferret to live in. Here are some easy important steps and tips for you to setup for ferrets cage.

Basically sui's cage is an over done cage because she has more then just the nesesitys but i seggest that you have the thinks i have in my cage.
She has,
A food bowl: That should be heavy enough so your ferret cant tip it over.
Water Bowl/water bottle: I have both in my cage because my ferret is spoiled but you can have only one. Choose which one you like better. Bottles are good because you dont have to worry about your ferret running out of water. Bowls are nice because for lazy ferrets it is easier to drink from. But eaither one is good.
ShoeBox: Its a nice home all you have to do is take a shoebox put some old shirts in it and your ferret has a nice sleeping box that they will love. And its a good way to use all those old shoe boxes you have stacked in the basement!:)
Hammok: Hammoks come in many different shapes,sizes, and colors. Ferrets love to sleep in hammoks so i encourage you to buy one. There basically a place for the ferret to sleep in.
Litter Box: Litter box's are a must need. Ferret litter boxes are like cats litter boxes.Make sure you get a good litter made for ferret use and NO KITTY LITTER! ITS NOT GOOD FOR THE HEALTH OF YOUR FERRET! I strongly recomend a litter like "Carefresh" its healthy and works really well.

When you buy a cage for your ferret you want to get a metal one that is safe and secure. I recomend that you get one that has a bottom pan That ceatchs any food or litter that might get spilled in the cage.
When you are placing the objects that will go in your Ferrets cage you might want to keep certain things on the secound story of your cage and certain things on the 1st level of the cage. If you dont have a 2 level ferret cage then its the same for a 2 level cage you just have to seperate things in different areas. If you have a 2 level it is good to have food and water on the 1st level and maybe a box like i have or something different. You always want to seperate the litter box from the food. So you can put like i did the litter box and hammok on the 2nd level and the food and a box if you choose on the 1st level. It workds really well and my ferrets seem to like it so far.
If you have only 1 level cage its not very different all you have to do is put the litterbox in one corner and the food in another corner far away from the litter box. Also after you placed the litter box in the cage dont move it to another spot because your ferret can get confused and have accidents.
