| A boy walks along, first day of school Wonders - is what I'm doing cool or uncool? His every step unsteady, unsure He wonders how this school year will be endured The bullies appear, same as before Those few who gave him hell, nothing more He just stands, gets shoved, listens And when they leave, in his eye a tear glistens But no - it's way not cool to cry Another moment he'll just have to survive Finally it's lunch time, finally a rest But for him social hour will of course be a test The same pointed fingers, same snickering smiles What pathetic, cruel, unforgiving imbeciles Next class the teacher hands out a pretest His mind wonders - why can't he be the best? Why does it matter, who even cares? Why are people judged on what they wear? Again he looks around, thinks of life ahead, But where do we all end up? We all end up dead. Six feet under as the saying goes... So why does it matter down which path we point our toes? Yet if you go astray, it comes at such cost Then he sees what so many have lost: Truth, honesty, justice, peace... The list goes on and on you see As the day ends, he watches people pass - They're all trying to mimic, why be so crass? His heart wants to scream, "Conformity is BAD!" And it's true, these days it's pathatic and sad |
