Kat had exausted her mind and body. She coulden't stay awake any longer and fell into a deep simi-peacefull sleep. Her memories flooded her dreams. Kalex stood there his arms held by two stormtroopers. His unruly mane was caked with mud and blood. He stood there an acusing look on his face. It was her fault that he had been captured. It was all her fault . . .

Kat did the same and used the Force to shield Tabby and herself as they made their way to Kat's ship.

Once inside Kat was very impressed at how well Christa had taken over the ship and gotten it to fly on such short notice, "Good job Chris. I'm very impressed!"

"I forgot to tell you I'm a quick learner. We'll be in hyperspace in a few moments," Christa replied.

Kat nodded and turned to Tabby, "You gonna start believing my hunches yet?"

"Alright, alright, you win, I'll listen next time!" Tabby replied standing and heading towards the cockpit to see how Christa was doing. Kat followed close behind.

"Your doing great Christa," Kat told her as she walked up behind her. "Is it ready for hyperspace?"

"All you need to do is pull the lever," Christa replied. "I programed the ship to head for Dantooine

"Very good," Kat complied and the ship leaped into hyperspace.

Gamth walked around the bridge, he was starting to get impacient. The smuggalrs were suposed to of arived by now, and they weren't here.

"Comnder, there's a ship comeing out of hyperspace!" one of the bridge crew.

"That should be them, but watch for hostile intensions," Gamth replied.

Kat's ship left hyperspace at Dantione. Christa had wandered the ship for days, things were diffrent than what she was used to. Kat wasn't like any Roati that she ever knew. She was stuborn, indipendent, cold sometimes. What had happened to her that would make her like this? She had heard Kat's story, but she felt like there was something that was missing from it.

"Attension, who are you and what are you doing in this area?" a voice came over the comline.

"This is the Kat's Escape," Kat replied.

"Kat's Escape what are you doing in the area?" the voice replied.

Kat senced through the force that the people on the other end were not Imps, "We were suposed to be smuggling some emergency rations. The Imps ambushed us at the pick-up point. These corodnates were programed already into my ship."

Kat could sence the person in the other ship assesing the infromation, "Kat's Escape you will be escorted into our feet and to the primary landing bay."

"Yes, Sir," Kat replied.

"So what are we doing now?" Tabby asked impaciently.

"We're landing."

"
WHAT?!" Tabby protested. "AFTER WHAT WE JUST WENT THROUGH AND YOUR LANDING IN THEIR FLEET?!"

"Yep."

"
ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!?!"

"Yep."

"Is that all you can say?!"

"Yep," Kat answered as she landed the ship softly in the docking bay.

Tabby let out a frustrated sigh throwing her hands up into the air.

Kat walked out of the docking bay and was greated by a Rebel security team, "Hey we're not the Imps! We were going to be delievering some rations to you guys but were ambushed."

The leader noded and motioned for them to step foreward. He lead them into the ship and to a conferance room.

"Hello, you are the smugglars we were expecting?" the man asked.

"Unfortunately, yes," Kat replied. She could sence the frustration in the person she was talking to, but letting on that she was a Jedi, right now, was not the best idea im the world. "We were ambushed on Tattione by Imperals, there was nothing we could do, we barely got outta there with our lives."

"I'm sure you did your best, Kat Kariena," the male replied.

Kat steped back in surprise, "I don't recall ever meeting you before."

"You haven't worked with me directaly, but you've worked with others in this fraction of rebels," he answered. "I'm Comander Gamth, Welcome."

Kat nodded politely, "I truely am sorry, Comander-"

Gamth put his hand up before she could continue, "It's alright, we have back-up comeing. Nirim show the Jedi and her friends to the guest accomadations."

A ferret came up beside Gamth and motioned towards Kat and her friends, "This way."

"Well that was interesting," Tabby wispered to Kat.

"I know," Kat wispered back. She had been puzzled since he revieled that he had known her name and known that she was a Jedi.

Hershia walked through the bay's of the spaceport on Tattione, that last known sighting of the Jedi and her friends, and the place where the Imperal troops stationed on this forbodeing planet had let two smugglars escape.

The Jedi had been here . . . with another Jedi and a companion. They weren't here any longer, that much was for sure. The clues to their location were well hidden, they obviously flew out of the landing pad in a hurry.

"Hunter Hershia!" someone called.

"Yes?" she snaped, spinning around. She loved the fearful feelings emenating from the speaker.

"We have a captive, I think you'll want to talk with him," the speaker replied.

"Oh?" Hershia replied, clearly interested. This shall be interesting!

Two stormtroopers walked up holding the arms of a scruffy looking male to say the least, his red fox coloring, fur untidaly waving in the dry wind. His dark mane had lost it tie that kept the hair from getting in his face.

"This is all you brought me?" she snaped in surprise, the defiant male glareing at her. No fear showed in his eyes or in his heart.

Kalex had seen the Imperals set up to ambush Kat, Tabby, and Christa. They were his friends and he owed Kat a favor or two. The Imps weren't going to get them on his watch. He had knocked out a few troopers and killed a few others before they captured him.

Now he stood before a female who was obviously intamadating to the troopers around him. She didden't intimadate him and she was never going to. Something inside him told him he woulden't die . . . not here anyway.

"This is all you brought me?" the fem snaped.

Kalex just glared at her, "Hey watch it!"

"Do you even know who your talking to?" she glared right back at him.

"Sure do! I'm talking to the imcoptent Jedi Hunter that can't even capture one simple Jedi! Oh great Jedi Hunter Hershia!" he mocked.

Hershia started to open her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She saw the truth in his words, but that just made her more angery. She could kill him here and now, But he might be instrumentel in the Jedi's capture. We cannot rule out that possability.

"Take him to my ship and restrain him," she ordered. "He might be useful later on."

"Don't bet on it!" Kalex replied as he was lead away.

Hershia growled, things were not going well. Now she had a Jedi, possably two, a renagade smugglar on the loose, and now this. She was developing a headache, she would have to manage. The Jedi and smugglar were last seen together, so if she was quick she could kill three rancors with one boulder. "I'll get you, Kat Kariena. I promice I will get you."

"Are they really rebels, Kat? or could they be Imps?" Christa asked.

"No, their rebels alright. There's not doubt about that. The Empire is not known for it's suttalty," Kat replied. Plus my danger sence would of gone off if they had been.

"Kat I owe you one," Tabby said breaking the uncomfortable scilence.

"Tabby, you don't owe me a thing, it's beacuse of you that I've been able to stay alive this long. Your friendship and trust is enough for me. You've proven to me that I can trust you with me secreat," Kat replied. It was all true, Tabby had had the chance to turn her in many times, and she didden't.

"Kat your putting far more trust in me than you should-" Tabby started.

"No, I'm not. You've had many chances to turn me in and you didden't. Remember the promice we made to each other when we were kids?" Kat asked.

"Kat, are you sure about this?" Tabby asked.

"Tabby, are you sure about this?" Kat replied a mistevous grin on her face. "Of corse I'm sure, you want to eat tonight don't you?"

Tabby's stomach rumbled from hunger, "That answer your question?"

Kat laughed. She and Tabby had been friends for atleast a year or two now. If it hadden't been for her Kat never would of survived on the streets. Kat didden't remember anything of her past before she was three. All she remembered was waking up in an alley with Tabby standing over her fighting off a couple of bigger kids.

"Ready?" Kat asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Tabby replied a smirk on her face.

Kat leaped off the roof of the building she was standing on, Tabby right after her. They landed on the tarp over the door of the store. Kat hoped off of the tarp and landed softly on the ground. Tabby landed right after her. They walked into the store.

Kat had discovered how to make people and video camaras think they were seeing something other than two small cubs stealing something from the food isle. This time Kat made them think it was one of the bullies that kept hunting Kat and Tabby reciently. She would continue with that one untill he was brought in and didden't bother her and Tabby anymore.

Tabby and Kat left the store their arms full of various foodstuffs. They ran to their hideout near the lake.

"That was one of the most easiest one's we done!" Tabby exclaimed biting into a piece of fruit.

Kat laughed, "There was no vid in there either! This should last us atleast a week?"

"Atleast, if we ration a little more it will last maybe a few more days," Tabby agreed. Neither of them liked this kind of living, so they made what they stole last as long as possable.

Kat abruptly turned somber, "Tabby, I want you to promice me that no matter what, you'll never turn me in. Never."

Tabby looked at Kst puzzledly, "What do you mean?"

"Promice me that no matter what happens, you'll never turn me in and always be my friend and one I can trust," Kat repeated.

"I promice, I'll always be your friend, no matter what happens, we'll get through it together," Tabby replied. "Do you promice this?"

"With all my heart. No matter what happens I'll always be your friend and one you can turn to."

Tabby wondered for a moment what had brought this on, and then forgot about it.

"Yea, I remember," Tabby replied. "And that's a promice I'll not break."

"And neither will I," Kat agreed.

"Well, now that we have that settled, what's our next move?" Tabby asked.

"First we're going to-" Kat broke off and her hand flew up to her head.

"Kat? Kat, are you ok?" Christa asked fracticly.

"Kat? Kat, can you hear me?" Tabby asked rushing over to her friend.

Kat didden't hear either of them. Her head was filled with images. Kalex stood out among them, his wrists restrained sitting in a ship. It wasn't any Imperal ship, it looked more like a personal ship for someone of importance to the Empire though. He had a gash on his arm, it looked like he had put up quite a fight before he had been cought.

Yes, you can see him can't you, Jedi? a voice hissed in her mind.

Who are you? Kat asked back.

That is none of your bissness. If you want to see him alive agian be on Thilan in one standard week. The voice replied

That's impossable! I won't make it in a week! Kat pleaded, but it was to late, who ever had connected with her had broken their connection. She was going to have to find a way.

"Kat? You ok?" Tabby asked when Kat seemed to come out of her trance.

"Tabby," Kat replied, sorrow filled her voice. "I've got some bad news . . ."
