Raised in a small town in Maine, Jenica had a somewhat abusive childhood. Her father was one of the most violent men in town, everyone looked the other way. Over time Jenica started to fear men, she did all she could to stay away from her father, becoming active in sports, school, plays, anything she could to stay away from home as long as possible.
When Jenica was sixteen her mother had had enough and Jenica and her mother moved to California. Once there Jenica vowed never to be treated like that again and enrolled in martial arts class after martial arts class, getting home late at night beacuse she took several diffrent classes and styles each night. The damage had still been done. The one challenge she had with her classes were the men intimidated her. Finnaly one of her teachers got through and broke that fear... atleast of him Fear of other males still remained.
When Jenica joined Starfleet she went into security, figuring that would be the best place for her to use the skills she had attained over her high school life, finnaly free of the chains of her abusive father. She tended to be somewhat anti-social and avoided the young men in ther classes as much as possible. When she graduated she was assigned to the USS Legacy as an assistant security officer.
Jenica still has a fear of men, though if outranked she will be respectful, she tends to avoid speaking to them whenever possible and hides her fear, often it comes out sounding like hate, though once someone broke through her walls they would be able to see her fear. Maybe someday someone will break through and it will dissapear, until then she simply lives trying to understand and learn from the past, vowing never to be in situations like that ever again.
