| Camping Trip #5 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| July 20 - 22, 2001 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Date: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Location: Sibbald Point Provincial Park, Ontario | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Site Number: 961 Comments: One trail, a museum and a beach. This crowded Provincial Park had everything the family needed. The day-trippers to the park were plentiful. The guys in the next camp site were smoking something wacky. And the baby at another site woke up through the night. So did I! Events: Thunderstorm and rain!! Lessons Learned: At the talk on Saturday night about snakes and frogs and skinks, we learned that there is not a lot of people who care if the these animals continue to survive. They implied that these animals are not like the whales, and no celebrity was going to shout "Save the Grey Frog." Kind of sad really knowing that by the time my kids are grown some of those animals may not exist. The other thing we learned is to always zip up the windows when leaving your trailer. If the rain comes, and you aren't there, your sleeping bags may get wet!! 2 of ours did. |
