I’m
passionate about life, love, family and friends. I love to laugh and smile;
and find pleasure in many,
many things. Friends would tell you, ‘the woman is crazy and full of life, resilient,
gives great hugs
when you need them; and, even when you don’t,’ ‘She’s a spit-fire, energetic,
fascinating, sultry, and
feminine lady.’ I'm sensitive, caring, giving, highly spiritual (not necessarily
religious but do have my
own beliefs), sexy, sensuous, very affectionate (meaning I like to touch a lot
so you should too —
remember that famous line Kevin Costner delivers in Bull Durham
: “I like slow, wet kisses that last
for three days.” — and then act accordingly), kind, compassionate,
extremely multifaceted, cultured,
intelligent, on the complex side, honest, loyal, steadfast, sometimes shy -
sometimes very outgoing
(I believe they call us ambi-verts, neither introverted nor extroverted but
depending on the stimulus…).
I can be pretty intense sometimes, but I can be absolutely silly when the occasion
warrants, too.
To quote my favorite brother, "dress you up and take you to Tony's and
then the opera, or dress you
in blue jeans and take you to a nice ice house or chili cook-off, it doesn't
matter because you'll fit in."
I
have a positive attitude, believe in living life to the fullest, and enjoy exploring
new places
and experiencing new things. I am someone who enjoys discussing current issues,
world events
and history, and travel destinations. I appreciate art, antiques, fine wine,
and a variety of cuisine
at home or dining out. Yes, I enjoy opera, theatre, musicals, and concerts (symphony,
r/roll and
even country). I have a great love for music and my tastes vary. I love sailing
and go with friends every
chance I get. I can equally appreciate a beautiful secluded beach and sunset,
or a heavily populated
city with a diverse culture -- as a couple or singularly. I love to travel.
I've been to Ireland twice now
(Irish/Scots/Cherokee heritage!), and the U.K. once have passport will travel!
Long walks on the
beach, esp in the moonlight or early morning when the sun is just peeking over
the horizon. I love
seeing what the morning tide brings in to the shore and drops at my toes… perhaps
a starfish?!
I love driving along country roads in the springtime, and stopping to watch
a calf being born and
the wonder of it all! Then finding a country fair, or flea market, and trying
to read the stories the items
have to tell. I am very visually oriented and stimulated. I love going to movies
or renting them, and even
a few TV programs, and sitting in the dark holding hands sharing popcorn and
a coke. I love to read,
and write. I'm a great cook – but don’t mind the man cooking (and this doesn’t
mean just grilling either!
I can do that quite well, thank you!) or at least sharing.
I
should also mention that though I am a true animal lover it is not to the extreme.
I am although highly
allergic to many types so you may want to take that into consideration. I love
cats and dogs particularly,
but not birds or reptiles.
I'm
also very in-tune with my emotions and generally don't have a difficulty expressing
them so if you
have a problem with women who can cry and cry well... lol... or who can express
the deepest joy and
passion to you or about you then I'm probably not for you. I have an extremely
diplomatic nature and
am old fashioned in a lot of ways. Don't get me wrong, I can be a strong woman
and still enjoy having a
door held open for me, in fact I insist on it! or have breakfast served to me
in bed – being totaled
pampered...lol. Actually, I have a dominate personality and often opinionated;
and will NOT be dictated to.
I like to spoil and pamper my partners in every way (but it does have to be
mutual). I enjoy romance,
being romanced, and even romancing my partner, and all that that entails! -
I've been called a hopeful
romantic.
Surprise me once in awhile and not just for my birthday, either! – you’ll never
know when I’m going to surprise you with a bouquet or something equally romantic for no reason at all. I'm one
of those girls that if you keep me
happy and satisfied, I will keep you ecstatic. I love being spoiled, but never
take it for granted and usually can give it
back just as willingly.
My daughter hopes that I can find someone who can keep up with me! I currently work at an academic institution as technical support and faculty and staff trainer. There is a lot to me...layers I haven't even reached yet so if you're looking for a challenging and stimulating person who at the same time is tender and loving then you've more than met your match. *wink*
Physically
speaking, I am curvy and feminine. Oh?! You want to know more? OK, I'm approximately
5' 61/2" tall
in my stocking feet, green-eyed and curly/wavy/permed auburn hair that is currently
mid-to-almost shoulder
length but may change to a shorter style as my whim suits me.
First...If you think that beauty only comes
in a Barbie® doll package then move on. If you think that only a size 0-8 or 10-12 can
be sexy, move on! If you need/want
a trophy girlfriend and don't want to be seen with anyone who's body is less
than perfect then, please, move on!
I’ve already told you I am a curvy (voluptuous) and feminine female. No
shallow men need apply. I am 50 (1952)
but am told all the time by others that 'there's no way - (I) look to be late
30s or no later than mid-40s.' More than
once I've had to proffer my driver's license to substantiate my claim. *grin*
Now that I've gotten that out of the way...lol. What I’m looking for in a man, in a partner is equally challenging.
I sometimes get yelled at by men that my laundry list of qualities that I'm looking for in a partner is too long. That says one of two things to me. 1) That most men don't ask much of themselves anymore. OR 2) That I really am looking for a needle in a haystack. I've gotten to a point in my life where I know what is and isn't going to make me happy so why make a game of it. I don't expect my partner to be perfect. I don't expect that he'll be without any insecurities or fears, or even a little baggage. I want him to be real. A real person. I'm looking for my best friend.
I am not looking for my ‘other half’ but someone who will compliment me and I him. So, on that note, here is my list...
I really don't think it needs to be said but for the sake of clarity - a gentleman who understands that chivalry is not dead. But, I'm not looking for Sir Galahad, or Romeo, or a knight in shining armor – I don’t need to be saved. Someone who can show his emotions not just with words but with actions,and still feel like a man. Does that make sense to you? Someone passionate in his own right, and can be passionate about me. Someone who is financially responsible and secure man with high self-esteem.
A well groomed man who is a good dresser; who believes in keeping himself and his environment neat and clean. A great personality with a good sense of humor is imperative! Do you love to dance, listen to music, go to movies, explore the outdoors, learn something new, try an adventure, be physical, contemplate life, discuss current events, dress up, sip champagne (or not), pub crawl, play on the beach, sit on top of a mountain, feel snow in your face, figure out how stars make constellations, cuddle in front of a fire, cry in your partners arms, sleep like spoons?
I need and want someone who will give all of himself otherwise there is no point. I do not expect anything I am not able to give myself. I guess I am just capable of giving and loving much more than the average person.
