About me...

So, just who is this person? you ask. Well, obviously, the nic would imply that I'm of the female persuasion, and I am. It would also imply that I love cats, which I do; that I have a playful nature *wink* - and you can bet I do. But, don't forget that like cats, I have claws. Seldom have I found an occassion to use them fully, but have been known to use them to get a point across and in 'play'.  I have a serious side too. Serious things have their place, but I'd much rather have fun in all that I do, while maintaining a seriousness to it. So, do I have serious fun? Yep. I love to smile, really I do.

I am of Irish and Cherokee descent. I try to read all I can on Native American history and culture, and not just that of the Cherokee Nation; and that of Ireland. I find myself fascinated with all things Celtic and Gaelic, which encompasses more than just Ireland. I have many varied interests, some of which seem to be totally incongruous with the person I seem to be. Mysterious, an enigma, ethereal - not my words! but nevertheless... *
I* think I'm just me - whoever, whatever that is or will be. I'll admit I'm ever evolving, as we all should be. I have an insatiable curiousity, always asking questions about anything that interests me and those I care about. Some say I trust too easily, and others say not enough. My trust has to be earned, but I usually reserve judgement if I judge at all.   I've been called a dreamer, a thinker, a seer.. I've never really thought much about it either way, it's a way of life for me for as long as I can remember.

I've already mentioned that I love to read; but I also love to write - can you tell? *g* I try to write a little something everyday even if it makes no sense in any way, shape or fashion at the time.. Perhaps, if you'd like I'll share some of my writings with you. But, I warn you - some of my writings are not for the faint of heart, easily offended. In some states and countries, and certainly some religious circles, my work would be banned.

I also love computers! Imagine that...*g* My arsenal includes:

  • several Macintoshes (no G3s or G4s yet, sadly)
  • 1 (one) Dell Dimension L series running Win2k Server - yes, really, with not problem ever; with 2 hard drives - (1) 6Gb and (1) 40Gb. And, Dell said it couldn't be done...pshah...
  • and one non-descript/no name pc that I am rebuilding and installing WinXP on it (crossing my fingers)

I started out on Macintoshes for various reasons, including I didn't like DOS very much. I couldn't, for the life of me, remember all the commands to type in to get it to do what I wanted it to. When the Macs came along in 1984, it was answer to my computing woes. I received my Dell this past Christmas ('99). I work in an environment of both Dells and Macs, thus my decision to go with Dell. My workplace phased out the Compaqs and boy-howdy was I ever glad! (Sorry for those who love Compaqs, I mean no disrespect - just my preferences.)

I have an Associates in Telecommunications/Desktop Publishing but for the past 6.5 yrs have been in the technical arena - repairing, roll-outs, and setting up and managing of classroom labs; as well as providing and facilitating training for faculty and staff. Recently, I've decided to get back into playing with and developing websites. What bettter way than to do my own. I used to have one but it fell by the wayside and was seriously neglected. Sooooo bear with me as I explore and create. Check back often if you're interested.
Thanks! and Come back, y'all!
Yep, I'm also a Texan! *wink*
