                             ACT ONE

       FADE IN:

       INT. - HALLWAY - ESTABLISH - INDETERMINATE

       We see two large men wearing red coveralls and dark blue
       hard hats, standing in a hallway. A large blue circular
       logo with a red letter 'V' emblazens their upper left
       shoulders.

       They seem to exude an ominous thug-like quality, brought
       about by a rather ridgid and implacable stance. That and
       the machine guns that they're holding.

       They're primary function however, appears to be standing
       in front of a nondescript door in the hallway. 

       The man on our left we will call THUG #1 and the man on
       our right, THUG #2. THUG #1 then initiates a very quiet
       dialoque, however neither man actually looks at the other,
       but stare stoically forward, always on guard.

                             THUG #1
                            (inquiry)
                   When do you think he'll show up?

                             THUG #2
                            (puzzled)
                   Who?

                             THUG #1
                   The Spy.

                             THUG #2
                            (understands)
                   Oh, him. 
                            (pause)
                   What makes you think he'll be
                   coming this way?
                            
                             THUG #1
                            (explains)
                   I don't know if you noticed,
                   but the door behind us is
                   actually painted on.                  

                             THUG #2
                   So then we're not really guarding
                   anything.
                            (pause)
                   Which would explain these machine
                   guns.

                             THUG #1
                   You mean because they're made
                   of concrete?

                             THUG #2
                   Yeah. What's the point of that?

                             THUG #1
                            (elaborates)
                   Well, the Spy throws something down
                   the hallway, which makes a noise,
                   causing us to look in that direction.
                             (pause)
                   Then he comes up from behind, smashing
                   one of us into the wall, grabs his
                   gun and bashes the other fellow over
                   head with it.              

       THUG #2 take a moment to respond.

                             THUG #2
                   You know, I just got the Dental Plan.

                             THUG #1
                   Then don't look down the hallway.

                             THUG #2
                   Okay. But why is this gun made of
                   concrete?

                             THUG #1
                   So the Girl doesn't get shot when
                   the Spy tries to rescue her from
                   our Boss.

                             THUG #2
                   The Girl? Isn't she the Bosses
                   sister or something? She acts
                   like there's a large crutacean
                   up her butt. I've never actually
                   seen her smile.

                             THUG #1
                   That's none of our business.
                   Just do the task in front
                   of you. Everything else is
                   counterproductive.
 
                             THUG #2
                   I know. It just seems odd though.
                   The Spy breaks in, kills hundreds
                   of us, we capture him, but don't
                   kill him, he escapes, just to have
                   a very drawn-out conversation
                   with the Boss.
                            (pause)
                   How Gay is that?

                             THUG #1
                            (nostalgic)
                   I really miss my old job at the
                   Post Office.
  
       Then an object bangs down the hallway to our left.

                                                       FADE OUT.
