Annemarie Andrews – Fireangel’s aunt. An explorer and adventuress.

General Ross Armstrong – The commanding general of Presidium Army base.

Lucia Ashton (real name Lucy Allen) – Ballerina with the Sunset City Ballet Company. Sunset City born, trained at the Gotham City Ballet. Very lovely in a showy way. Glamorous dancer. She has starred in a couple of hit musicals, and is still torn between ballet and Broadway.

Professor Bernard Berriman – Head of Archaeology and Paleontology at Sunset City University.

Col Benjamin (Blazin) Brand – Head of F.L.A.M.E. (Federal Law-enforcement Agency for Monitoring the Extraordinary). Col Brand was a member of a Special Forces team in WWII, his two partners were Dixon Hill and Cedric Rhodes.

Benito "The Boss" Bossini – Head of the major organized crime family in Sunset City.

Carlo Carlotti – Mr Bossini’s right hand man. Tries to be eloquent and debonair, but often gets his syntax a little, you know, confused-like.

Caitlin Carey – 17 years old, just out of the Sunset Ballet School. Looks up to Maria. Very cute, leggy, all-American dancer.

Skip Carson – Roommate of Jason Cross. He grew up poor, the oldest son of a coal miner. One brother in the mines, the other in the Army. His sister is just out of high school, getting married. He is a graduate student in molecular biology and experimental medicine at Sunset City University, and has won numerous scholarships.

Lily Ching – Dancer in the Sunset City Ballet. She is the closest thing to a girl friend Maria has in the company, and, fortunately, they aren’t in direct competition.

Doctor Carl Crusher – Head of Experimental Medicine at Sunset City University.

Darius Drake – The son of Major Dirk Drake, and the nephew of William Francis Drake. One of the rising stars of the Sunset City Ballet.

William Francis Drake – The wealthiest man in Sunset City, a philanthropist and a major patron of the arts.

Major Ekstrum – FLAME Agent in charge of West Coast operations.

Devon Engles – Roommate of Jason Cross. He is an engineering graduate student at Sunset City University, and also took acting classes in high school and has a flair for the dramatic. He likes to make widgets to give Direwolf "to test." Fine black hair, wears glasses.

David Farrell – Dancer in Sunset City Ballet. He is a strong modern dancer. Not danseur noble material (he lacks the natural elegance), but very accomplished.

Sol Feinberg – Pawn Shop Owner. An ex white-collar felon (forgery), he got tired of getting caught and spending years in jail. He has found it more profitable to deal in "pawned" items. Met Dixie Hill when her father asked her (using his one phone call) to inquire on an "unusual" renaissance art piece.

Thomas Franklin – Unitarian minister. He wears turtlenecks, and is a bit fuzzy on theology.

Gordon Goodman – The mayor of Sunset City. He has a fondness for somewhat general statements, and prefers not to insult anyone who might be a registered voter. Is happiest when everything is going smoothly.

Reverend Green – Baptist preacher in Devil’s Point neighborhood.

Ricky Jackson – A clerk in the medical records division of Sunset City Hospital. Just happens to know everyone. Likes people and has a knack for talking to anyone. Met Dixie Hill in medical classes at college. He graduated a few years before her - but never forgot her.

Madame Metta Jenson – The Ballet Mistress of the Sunset City Ballet. A retired ballerina from the Royal Danish Ballet.

Mr Johnson – An easily forgettable man in a nondescript gray suit, he oversaw Nightdancer and Wall’s defection from the Soviet Union, and from time to time he shows up with little "tasks" for them.

Reverend Kane – A Pentecostal, fire and brimstone type of preacher.

Rabbi Kaufman – A short, round man with a huge laugh and a friendly expression, he has rarely been seen without his pipe.

Warden Kelley – The head of Diomedus Penitentiary. An older man with white streaks in his hair. He doesn’t believe in coddling criminals.

Magda – An older woman with a touch of 'the sight' who always has a genial smile that conceals a sharp mind. She is very much part of Baghdad street and knows everyone 'on the street' and knows where anything can be found (if she doesn't have it herself, she knows who to send you to). She runs Magda’s Coffees and Teas, a popular hangout on Baghdad Street.

Professor Malthus – The head of Engineering at Sunset City University, considered one of the country’s leading experts on computational devices.

Sven Martins – Dancer in the Sunset City Ballet. Blond and cute, with really fine technique. He is a fine character dancer and comedian, although a little short at 5’7" for danseur noble parts, but is on his way to a good career in supporting parts.

Officer McGinty – An old fashioned street cop. He hasn't paid for an apple or a cup of coffee in 17 years, though he wouldn't take a bribe if his life depended on it.

Charles Monroe – One of the leading attorneys in Sunset City. He went to school with Dixon Hill. A member of the Citizens’ League.

Becky Hill – Dixie’s mother. She is a retired nurse. The disappearance of her husband has been a blow to her, and her health is failing.

Irena Odile (real name Irene O’Malley) – Dancer with the Sunset City Ballet. Aged 29 (she says), she trained at the Metropolis Ballet School and looks it. Very stylish, very elegant, and very anorexic. Married to a socially prominent local physician. This is why she left Mr. Ballantine’s company, he’s openly said he does not approve of ballerinas marrying.

Ed Pippin – Manager of the Sunset City Seals.

Fred Pippin – Music teacher. An aesthete doomed to teach in the public schools. Normally he projects an unflappable appearance, but his face lights up when he is playing or teaching.

Vicky Redgrove – A beautiful blonde, the daughter of the Police Commissioner.

Rickie Richards – A researcher at LexCorp labs. He went to school with Dixie Hill.

Sgt. Bartholomew "Rocky" Rock – A beat cop in Sunset City. More concerned with keeping crime from happening than from arresting people.

Father Sanchez – A Catholic priest in the Old Spanish Quarter.

Major Steve Sharp – An Army officer at Presidium Base, he attacked Madame Pavlova while mind controlled by Herr X.

Doctor Nigel Q. Sedgwick – Curator of the Sunset City Museum of Ancient History. A somewhat pedantic man who nonetheless is a history expert, Nigel is also a stickler for punctuality.

Michael Smertin – Artistic Director & Choreographer of the Sunset City Ballet. A visionary artist and highly experimental choreographer, fond of combining elements of modern dance, modern jazz, Broadway, rock and roll, even beat poetry into his works. Is not averse to Classical and Romantic ballet but, realistically, feels he has to design dances for the company he HAS, a mostly young, technically proficient troupe lacking classical style.

Ace Sparks – An expert mechanic. Trained in the military, Sgt Sparks repaired planes, jeeps & half-tracks in WWII. Later, during the Asian Conflict, he worked on the latest jets, both American and captured Soviet fighters.

Major Strafford – Army officer, was the head of the Ultra-Security Section of Diomedus Penitentiary during the period when the military ran it.

Captain Tony Triviatti – The police captain in charge of the Devil’s Point Police Station. All the cops know that he's really ineffective and doesn't know what's going on. Sgt Joe really runs things, although every now and then Captain Triviatti decides to develop a backbone and insist on giving orders. He's always wrong, of course.

Vladimir Victorov – A Russian chess grandmaster, he defected to America where he continues to play chess, dine for free at expensive Russian restaurants, and expound upon politics.

Lee (Leroy) Washington – 19 year old African-American kid just out of the Sunset City Ballet School. Discovered by Smertin in Devil’s Point. Extraordinary agility and strength and serious good looks.

Patricia "Stormy" Weathers – The feisty, red haired reporter for the Sunset City Sentinel. She broke the story of Direwolf.

Gilbert Wiggans – Successful businessman. Fireangel’s father.

Maryanne Andrews Wiggins – Fireangel’s mother. A member of the Order of the Fiery Rose, she has very minor healing powers.

Sergeant Joe Wojosky – A 20 year veteran of the police force, Sergeant Joe doesn't surprise easy. He and Direwolf have entered into an 'unofficial' understanding and Joe provides Direwolf with leads and police back up as required. In exchange, Direwolf keeps Joe informed of whatever he finds out. Sgt Joe works out of the Devil's Point Precinct, the roughest one in Sunset City.
