Fragrant Russula

These mushrooms smelled exactly like Amaretto, which leads me to believe it is in the Russula fragrantissima group. However, the descriptions I found in guidebooks were never a perfect match. This is an example of how difficult it can be to identify mushrooms based on casual observation. Taking a spore print of the mushroom can go a long way in helping to identify it.
