My most memorable mushroom hunt:
I came across a pine forest in which the floor was heavily carpeted by fallen needles under the trees. Walking around, I noticed how the ground was uneven with small mounds here and there. Curious as to what could be causing this, I removed the cover of pine needles to discover a group of large beauties like the one shown below. I went around and checked each mound; each revealed to me these wonderful gifts of nature.
It was like a mushroom wonderland! The smell of the pine, the bounciness of the thick needle cover under my feet, and the discovery of these magnificent mushrooms made for a dream-like experience.
