These boletes are quite common in my area, but I never get tired of seeing them - they are one of the most beautiful species in the bolete family. The yellow pores on the underside of the cap contrast nicely with the dark colours of the cap and stalk.

Looks like a banana slug had a snack at the base of this one. I bet it was yummy!
