World Environments.

This map shows some of the different natural environments in the world. your environments is the area around you, including all the living and non-living things in it. every environment has its own feature, such as climate, plants & animals, rivers & mountains. Many plants & animals have special characteristics that help them survive in their environment the polar bear's thick coat, for exp, keep it warm in icy temperatures. the environment also affects how people live.

                                                         

GRASSLAND;                                                                   

Grasslands are found in hot & cold countries & always have a wet & dry season the main plants are tough, short grasses and herbs.

SAVANNA; 

These are grasslands found in hot, tropical areas. They have a rainy season followed by a dry one.

MEDITERRANEAN WOODLAND SCRUB;

These places have hot, dry summers & mild winters. Olive trees are common.

DESERT;

Desert are the hottest, and driest places on Earth, with less then 100mm of rain a Year.

POLAR;

The poles are windswept & icy all Year round. In winter, days may be as dark as night.

MOUNTAINOUS;

Mountains get colder as you go higher. Different kinds of plants & animals can live at different levels.

BROADLEAVED FOREST;

Broadleaved forests grow in mild areas. Trees include beech, oak & ash.

TUNDRA;

In summer, the snow on the tundra melts but the ground below stays frozen. It is called permafrost.

CONIFEROUS FOREST;

This band of forest contains trees  that can survive the cold. The include pine, spruce & larch. 

TROPICAL RAINFOREST;

These jungles are hot & wet all Year round. They are very rich in wild life.
