  update number 4
greetings from Nijima
"Where the hell am I?"- Steely Dan
(funky kase sensei and the ever-cheerful students of 3H)
He's a great guy and very energertic teacher who also is an accomplished muscian (he`s crazy about 1970`s funk).  Please check out his site.

And my students are irrepressibly cheerful and a delight to teach.  I feel very lucky to have such bright young people around me everyday.

And as for my school,
It'is going great, thanks to excellent students and dedicated teachers (and I've signed up for another year).  I teach at four schools but spend most of my time here at Ichikawa Higashi KoKo.  Kase-Sensei (one of the teachers with whom  I team teach) is a good example of why I like this place
(see photo below).

a@peace,
5/2002
Friends, family, and wayward surfers; just a brief note to say that the reports of my demise have been greatly exagerated (mostly by me).  All is well and your letters, photos, emails and phone calls are GREATLY appreciated, thank you and love goes out to all!.
And so,
Last month I slipped away to Nijima island where my good friend Tim works as a teacher.  He's the only gaijin on the island which has a population of 3,000. After catching the island hopper to Nijima (1 hour from Tokyo), Tim wasted no time in showing me the many sites of this remote and beautiful place.
Click on the photos for a larger image and a trite explanation.

Finally,
I really will try to be more diligent when it comes to this updating this page.  My school has recently purchased a digital camera so watch for new pics soon.
Thanks for tuning in...
