Laran gift and laran training: -- no official training -- Limited 'second sight' [inherited from her paternal grandmother -- happens spontaneously more often than deliberately, but more likely to happen if there's a relevant personal-possession object for her to hold and 'wonder/worry about'] -- Limited telepathy [touch dependent -- happens occasionally while she's using her other talent; but it comes in brief, spontaneous flashes Politics: Admits to being curious about political structures [a quiet libertarian], but doesn't like to 'play politics'. Personality: Being a "millitary brat" who never stayed in any one place long enough to make friends, Anwyn is often still as quiet and shy as she was BEFORE she got 'accidentally diverted' to Cottman IV while in mid-journey with her family. As the youngest child in a large family, she's used to being ignored and overlooked and not taken seriously. In her own self-contained-and-independant way, Anwyn has a large appetite for learning new things and is quietly curious about almost everything around her. She places a high value on the importance of politeness and in keeping everything perfectly-neat-and-tidy. However, she's developed into being more outgoing since her accidental arrival on Cottman IV, and sometimes her curiousity leads her into indulging her subtle mischievous streak by doing something more daring than she would have even CONSIDERED before she was a teenager. About her job, Anwyn LOVES the full access to the library and gym -- but sometimes finds her clerical duties to be "too easy and BORING". Strengths: Academically-bright-and-studious, learns new languages quickly, self-reliant enough to cook/clean/organize-stuff for herself, very musical (sings and plays wooden flutes) Weaknesses: Can be overly shy when uncomfortable in her surroundings, is often overlooked due to being "small and quiet", has trouble resisting snacking on more chocolate than is healthy, has an adoring fascination for kittens, is extremely ticklish and blushes easily, is often considered to be somewhat of a loner Combat training: Surprisingly-good, considering her appearance and her basically-pacifistic nature. Being always small for her age, she always made sure to take advantage of various classes often offerred wherever her parents were stationed. So she's quite proficient in the practical basics of unarmed combat designed specifically for small women facing larger-and/or-stronger opponents. Anwyn has also learned about strategy and tactics (though mostly by reading) -- including when it's more appropriate to run away or to "fight dirty"]. But she'd MUCH rather just read about it and practice her exercises alone, instead of actually having to fight anyone Horseback riding: Nonexistent. Has never even MET a real horse Appearance: 5 feet tall in her bare feet, has a very slender athlethic build and weighs only 90 pounds; wavy dark brown hair that takes way too long to brush straight enough for a pony-tail; dark, blue/gray eyes; very fair skin. Romantic relationships: None Friends: Doesn't make friends easily, and tends to be more likely to classify friendly people as simply being "interesting people I know". Would say that the closest she has to friends are Kay MacDonald (her sponsor into the Civil Service and currently her surrogate-parent-figure while she's on-planet), Ceroill Merrick (who runs a shop called Leaves) and Dr. Louis Couvillon (her co-sponsor). Animal Companions (I feel like I'm THEIR sometimes-pet): A young black cat called Mairead (who lives in Kay's apartment) and Oberon the Owl (who lives in the attic of Ceroill's shop). Hobbies: Yoga, Tai Chi, knitting, singing, playing wooden flutes, 'reading' tealeaves, Sumi-e brush painting, drawing, playing with Mairead, exploring with Oberon, wandering around my favourite shops in town Other Information: Anwyn is a 'late' child (the youngest child born to late-middle-aged parents who hadn't been expecting to have any more kids ["Who would have thought that the implant would fail like that? And after we've been so carefully for long about replacing itBEFORE it ran low"]. Her paternal grandmother swears that Anwyn is a 'changeling child' as she resembles no one else in the family. Her paternal great-grandfather just shakes his head and says that Anwyn is the spitting image of HIS mother, who was Welsh. Her great-grandfather on her mother's side says that Anwyn resembles his mother. Anwyn thinks that she just looks like herself. She is also, without a doubt, the shortest member of her extensive family [who all top six feet or better, by the time they're teenagers]. With four much older siblings (and parents with 'busy and important careers', Anwyn tends to get 'forgotten about' a lot as well. Family Tree: Brian McCarron (Lt.
