Notes for Jacob BILLMAN

"Jabob Billman, a son of David Billman, lived on a tract of fifty-nine acres on the south side of the Schochary (sic) Ridge in the Kistler Valley in Allemangel. He bought it from his father on December 27, 1766. On Dec. 19, 1767, he sold 21 acres 58 perches out of this tract to his son Conrad. On May 7, 1770, Conrad bought, from the heirs of his grandfather, David, viz. Jacob Billman, Elizabeth, wife of Adam George, and Margaret, wife of Hugh Pugh, a tract containing 110 acres 133 perches out of the original 200 acres 96 perches warranted to his grandfather on October 4, 1738*. Philip Kistler bought this 110 acres 133 perches, plus the 21 acres 58 perches, which adjoined it on the north, from Conrad Billman on May 7, 1770 for 400 pounds, that is for $1,064 (exchange rate $2.66)" Source: Arthur Klingaman, THE KLINGAMAN FAMILY
