Paul (BEE) was born about 1813. The Annuals of Lincoln County (NC) refer to his marriage to Mary Wingard of Lexington, SC, on 12/16/1841. Mary died shortly afterwards, on 5/21/1843, aged 27 years, 8 months, and 19 days (this yields a birth date of 9/2/1815). She is buried at Old St. Paul Church, Catawba County, NC. Paul remarrried to Thurza; papers in the Kistler family file at HSBC show her maiden name as Cloy. Thurza was born 1/6/1829 and died 12/26/1895, according to records of the Oakwood Cemetery, Statesville, NC. The 1860 Census records for Montgomery County, NC, show Paul Kistler, a Methodist minister, age 47; his wife, Thurza, age 32; Victoria, age 14; Mary, age 8; John, age 7; Catherine, age 5; and Isabella, age 3. The 1870 Census records for Iredell County, NC, show Paul, age 56; Thurza M., age 40; Amanda V., age 24; Mary, age 18; John, age 16; Catherine, age 14; Isabella, age 12; Elma, age 4; and Minnie, age 3.
