George (BCI) is named in his father's estate papers. At the time of his father's death in 1812, George was still a minor; he was probably born about 1799.
George (BCI) and his cousin George (BAJ) were about the same age and lived in the same area of North Carolina. Since supporting records are few, it is difficult to tell the two families apart. The 1850 Census records for Union County, NC, show George, age 50; Judy, age 31; John, age 16; Sarah, age 14; Mary, age 12; George, age 9; James, age 7; and Margaret, age 3. The 1860 Census records for Union County show George, age 55; Judy, age 55; Mary, age 19; James, age 15; Margaret, age 18; Jane, age 10; and Eliza, age 8. Obviously, the age data shown in the two Census records are misleading and/or erroneous.
