Obituary: "Mrs. Mary Alberta Kistler, wife of former Sheriff David L. Kistler, died Thursday of last week at their home on West Main Street, New Bloomfield, after an illness of ten months. Mrs. Kistler was the daughter of William and Catherine Perry Hassinger and was born in Elliottsburg. She and Mr. Kistler were married fifty-six years ago, and lived in New Bloomfield since 1916 when Mr. Kistler became Sheriff of Perry county. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. James Shull of Ickesburg, and Mrs. J.T. Smith, of Prospect Park. She was a member of New Bloomfield Lutheran Church. ... Burial was in Elliottsburg cemetery."
