Land ownership: "Thomas Kinkaid held a 'plantation' of 100 acres, more or less, which he conveyed in 1777 to Georg Schade. In 1788 it passed to Johann Jacob Briner from Albany Twp., Berks Co., in 1790 to Abraham Kistler, Sr., of Kistler Valley, Northampton Co., and in 1794, to Johann Anthony Kimble (Kimmel) who came from Greenwich Twp., Berks Co." Land ownership: Abraham purchased about 100 acres in what is now Perry Co., PA from Johann Jacob Briner on April 2, 1790; Source: Personal letter from Edward Lay, April 7, 1987. By 1814 he owned 400 acres near Elliotsburg, Perry Co.;

Land ownership: Jacob Briner purchased 100 acres of land in Little Germany Valley, Tyrone Twp on April 28, 1788. This may have been the land sold to Abraham Kistler. The Briners lived in Allemangel. Source: BRINER FAMILY HISTORY, p. 370, per letter from Jerry A. Clouse, 11/16/98

Land ownership: An article dated 1890 regards the demolition of an old house owned by William Dum near Elliottsburg on land once belonging to Abraham, the "grandfather of John S. Kistler" known as the Gehr farm, the oldest house in the vicinity of Elliottsburg. Copy in Perry Historians collection, New Bloomfield, Perry Co., PA

Will: Will of Abraham Kistler of Tyrone Twp. written July 17, 1829 and proved April 27, 1833. The will mentions wife Catherine, sons William, Jacob, Abraham, John, Samuel; children of Jacob Stambaugh (Catherine, Mary wife of George Waggoner, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jean and John Stambaugh), daughter Elizabeth wife of Frederick Dum. Witnesses Henry Stambaugh and Cadwallader Jones. Executors sons Samuel and William. Source: Perry Co. Wills, Book A, p. 497

Death: Abraham is buried in Lebanon Lutheran Church Cemetery, Loysville, Perry Co., PA. His tombstone reads, "Hier ruhen die Gebeine von Abraham Kistler--starb den 10 April 1833--im 73 Jahre seines alter."
