DR. Sprague was educated at O.U. in Athens, OH. and at National Normal University in Lebanon, OH., where he graduated in1893. In 1895, he and Mrs. Sprague settled on the old Sprague homestead on Livingston Ave., six miles east of Columbus, OH. The land was very productive and one year 3250 bu. of corn and 1425 bu. of wheat were produced which sold at .17 to .18 cents and .45 cents respectively. A large drove of fat hogs sold for $3.30 per hundred pounds. Butter often sold at .12 cents and eggs at .07 cents. Some years the farm produced 100 tons of hay. It was a grand life but unprofitable. After a few years he entered Starling Medical College in Columbus and graduated in 1902. Since then he has followed his profession in Chauncey, OH.
During the first World War he helped organize the North Hill Coal Co. and was its secretary and treasurer. He is the author of the large Sprague history and genealogy; member of the American Medical Association and of the Ohio State Historical and Archaeological Society. He has served as township treasurer, member of village council, and member of board of education. His hobbies are Indian relics and fishing.
