Carl Kistler was a automobile dealer in 1916 in Royal Center, Indiana.
He was appointed Postmaster at Royal Center, Indiana on March 4,1942.
He rendered valuable assistance by copying tomb stone inscriptions and collecting records of the Indiana branch of the Kistler family. In 1916, he wrote: The Kistlers, in the early days, bore, in several instances, the same names, and in order to distinguish one from the other were known as follows: Squire Dan Kistler, Little Dan Kistler the Forty Niner. Then there was Prince Henry, and Cattle Henry. In later years, Little Charlie, Charlie C. , and Charlie L. , Little George, Cooper George, and Brophy George, Bottle Tom, and Blinkie Ananias Tom, Big Chet, and Chester Tom.
