Notes for Aaron B. KISTLER
Aaron was a school teacher in his younger days. At the time of Morgan's Raid he was commissioned 2nd Lieut. of Co. G, 2nd Regt. of the Ohio Militia in Fairfield Co. The company drilled a few times and was discharged as not needed.
He and his wife were large land holders in Bloom twp. Their well kept farms were attractive. Mr. Kistler was also in the grain and milling business. He purchased from his father Samuel, the gristmill at Carroll. Water power from the canal was used. Later steam power was installed. He was one of Fairfield County's most substantial and respected citizens.
