Notes for Michael M. KISTLER
2nd Lt. in Civil War-3 yr. in 48th PA. Volunteers. Wounded at 2nd battle of Bull Run and at ? Learned the tanning business with brother Joel in his Tanneries at Ringtown in Schuylkill Co. In 1867 he and his brother Stephen established a merchantile business in Bartonsville & Tannersville. In 1872 he built Kistler's Block in Stroudsburg. In 1878 he moved to east Stroudsburg.
