Better than thread or miles of cloth- is the costume done and hands are washed!" ---My little sewing song (lol) goes to the tune the hobbits sing in FOTR extended edition. |

UPDATE DEC 2004: This poor gown had been neglected for awhile, as I've been real busy with work and boring everyday life (lol!) -as well as the hectic holiday season recently. Plus, I started other projects. Hee hee. Well, my gown is mostly finished (except for the neck trim, buttons, and "v" insert) so I finally updated my page on it! I've worn it a few times already. :0) |

UPDATE DEC 2004: This costume's been done AWHILE ago (since LAST December!) I just haven't had the chance to make a page for it! I just couldn't find the time to make the page(s) for it- it's going to be a BEAST, we have so much info! After I fix up all the pages a bit, it's my first priority. |

I made this for my boyfriend Steve to wear to King Richard's Faire in the fall. We weren't able to do the chainmaille because I only had a month for this costume (and was working on various others!) We also aren't skilled enough yet with metal to make the armor! Lol! So I made the surcoat and cloak for him. :0) |

Lots to do for our film still. So far the hobbits are done, ringwraiths, Gandalf, Isildur, most of Elrond (including his "prologue" garb! Lauren finished the armor and I finished his cloak!), and most of Aragorn. I'm not going for exact detailing here, just what's cheap and easy- and still looks good on film. |

I'm working on these in-between various projects (need a break every now and then!) using leftover black velvet from my mourning gown (have lots left over- but in weird sections, not enough to make another garment). I'm embriodering the white tree on it. Different versions- one the white tree with the stars, the other the tree design that's on the Gondor armor without the stars. They will be for sale eventually, if all goes well. :0) |
