We read,
listen and watch
as every poet's glimpse of life
is given new colors
in the minds of listeners
We, the writers,
turn pages in books
either collective fragments
  of our own lives
  or the sets of words
  of others
   more famous
But it's all the same
We are logophiles
turning words
  on the lathe
  of imagination
  offering up
    individual works of art
    simplicity or fanciness
we desire the touch and feel
  of another's work
  to compliments our own
