Remember This 'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the town A frenzy of shoppers went swirling 'round - Getting last minute presents for family and friends In such a big hurry lest Mall hours end! Children were crying, grownups were tense And Holiday spirit was on the defense... People were jostled, merchandise ripped - As everyone rushed to fill their gift-lists... Somehow, the meaning of Christmas has dimmed through the haze of wrapping, and patience worn thin Is this what was meant by the Star in the East? A pile of packages; a fragrant feast? Your neighbors, coworkers famlies in the street: We all have agendas for the Season we greet. Some mourn things gone, others welcome the new Still there are folks who ask a few pennies from you... As we enter our homes safe and sound, and whole - Take a long look around at your loved ones, and know: The Christmas Tree shimmers with warmth, and light, to remind us of one long ago Holy Night - Angels praised with song, and calmed the world as the Message from Heaven was so humbly unfurled... When the skies were cold, and still, and awed: For one baby's birth - The Son of God! So, come in from the cold of Faith you have lost; The hustle and bustle isn't worth the cost of forgetting the lesson sent to us from Above: Merry Christmas, all People from your Father, with Love.
