Lost

Bittersweet in fantasies
is all I have known love to be
  a lingering spell
  which ever tells
of yet another who will part from me

Singsong in my agony
I melt in drowning poesy
  draught from the well
  echoed mourning knell
a death of what I'd hoped would be

For what is suffered, naught is freed
Pavlovian hunger, nothing feeds
  hope rings the bell
  yet I expect the fell
Fate's wicked hand does reckoning

A dream is only what I see
vanished in waking imagery
  lonely, murky dwell
  I live in Hell
Forever chant despondent litany...
